Missions & Outreach
Good Shepherd has an intentional focus outside the walls of the church. We put a high priority of showing God's love to the outside world. There are several on-going mission and outreach programs along with recurring opportunities.
Here are some of the ways our church is fulfilling God's plan in our community and beyond:
Severe Weather Shelter - We are the only Red Cross-certified Shelter in the area.
Food Pantry - We offer "prayer and produce" for anyone who asks.
Salvation Army Food Delivery - Delivers meals to the downtown Huntsville area.
Bread Ministry - We pick up, bag, and redistribute food donations every week.
Prison Coffee Ministry - For families visiting inmates at Limestone Correctional Facility.
Equal Exchange Coffee - We sell $5 Bags of grounds from South and Central America.
Habitat for Humanity - We participate in building and blessing one or two houses a year.
Prison Fellowship Angel Tree - Provides Christmas gifts to children of inmates.
Operation Christmas Child - Sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.
Youth Domestic Missions - Every Summer our Youth attend a Mission Camp.
Foreign Missions - We support missionaries in and annual trips to Bolivia and Honduras.
